The fact is that if Mr. Fleisher’s company has to buy an extra box of paper clips it will cause them to go belly up. He’s in not position to hire anyone regardless of tax policy.The reason Mr. Fleischer’s company isn’t hiring has nothing to do with taxes or the policies of any administration. It’s because his business has been in decline for a decade. As the CEO, that decline is his fault. All his complaining about taxes and benefits is just a smokescreen for his own incompetence.
The world changed around them a decade ago and they failed to adapt. In 2000, their annual sales were 66 million dollars with cash on hand of 12 million. By 2003, sales were down to 55 million and cash was down to 6 million. That was before the financial crisis and under the allegedly pro business policies of the previous administration. In 2009, sales were down to 44 million and cash was down to 2 million. They manages to lose 17 million dollars that year and got a carry back refund of some 5 million dollar. Mr. Fleischer should spend less time complaining about taxes and more time thinking about how he can correct 10 years of mismanagement.

And on a serious note, it still amazes me that companies do not include the amount they pay in benefits (especially health insurance) on their pay slips to employees. You want to change the cost of health care- start mandating that be put on every employee’s paystub.
Republicans promised all their tax cuts, deregulation and cheap access to capital would produce a "ownership" utopia with jibs and homes for everyone.
When their zero oversight, 2 wars and unlimited hubris blew up in the face and f*cked America, now all of a sudden they want overnight change via Obama all the while mocking him and voting "no" every step of the way.

Senate Republicans will mount a new push this fall for a constitutional amendment to balance the budget, just when the war heats up over whether to extend the tax cuts for the rich.
This is all hype, these amendments have no chance of passing.
It highlights two obvious things:
1. Republicans want to extend tax cuts to the rich and add $3.1 trillion in debt.
2. They, on the other hand, want to push for reducing the deficit on every one else by cutting programs and spending for the poor and middle class.
Offering huge, deficit-creating handouts for the rich while cutting spending on the poor and middle class. In other words, spreading the wealth to people who don't need it. How does this make sense to 99% of America?

I know they all play golf, but Boehner's reputation of not working hard is known throughout DC.
Boehner's PAC has been indulging in these golfing junkets for some time. That may or not be an issue. What is important is that he's in favor of raising the age for Social Security, how he fought against extending unemployment benefits, and he and his party of no have been against every issue brought before them and fights hard for the rich and wealthy.
He wasn't so vocal about deficits when Bush got us into two wars, that were costing about $12 billion per month without any way to pay for it. And didn't have an exit strategy to get us out of them. He's an example of what's wrong with the GOP, they don't have any ideas except to try to hinder people who are at least making an effort to get us out of these messes.
