McCain Gives Finger To Free Market Republicans

Free Market Conservatives must love McCain's $300,000,000,000 “nationalization” of the U.S. mortgage market. Wonder what Fox Noise had to say.

On Fox, Nina Easton notes that we observed the “sinking ship of free-market Republicans” go to the “bottom of the sea,” with McCain’s proposal of a $300 billion “nationalization” of the U.S. mortgage market.

Face it, your Republican brand has been destroyed. Bush put it in the toilet and McCain is flushing it down.

69.9 million people watched the VP debates. It was the most watched VP debate in history.
Obama supported think Biden clearly outclassed Palin. McCain supporters think Palin was enough to stop the downward trend. Most pundits and polls gave the debate to Biden. Independent voters overwhelmingly sided with Biden.

The Right Wing, like a Pat Buchanan or a Fox Noise, made it out that Palin not only won, but won huge and that Palin is the key to victory. Out of touch? In denial? That would be an understatement. The graph is worth a 1000 words:

Federalism By Republicans Is A Joke

If Republicans believe in federalism, or States' rights to govern themselves, why is the McCain campaign trying to run Alaska right now? Can't the state do it's own business or investigations?

What do Republicans do when they have a problem with abuse of power?

• They aggressively try to shut down all means of inquiring into the reality and record of the mystery that is Sarah Palin.
• They insert yourself into the Alaska legislature's Troopergate investigation in order to stymie transparency before the election.

The only way to curb abuse of power is to abuse power, but on a higher level. Orwellian doublespeak = GOP logic!

Federalism is just lip service. Republican national power trumps all local or state institutions. Add this to the long list bullshit principles the conservatives pretend to have.

Don't Just Fire One Guy

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was kicking some butt yesterday. Addressing a crowd in New Mexico, Obama responded to John McCain's silly claim that if he were president he would fire SEC Chairman Christopher Cox -- the president doesn’t have the authority to fire the SEC chairman -- by saying that it's time to fire all of Team Bush and don’t let anyone who looks so much like him win in November.

"In the next 47 days you can fire the whole trickle-down, on-your-own, look-the-other-way crowd in Washington who has led us down this disastrous path. Don't just get rid of one guy. Get rid of this administration. Get rid of this philosophy. Get rid of the do-nothing approach to our economic problems and put somebody in there who's going to fight for you."
