NYT article on how high gas prices help Texas oilmen. The once marginal oil fields of Texas are now relatively booming with production as barrel prices near $40. Great for them, bad for everyone else.
No need to put pressure on OPEC when you have some croonies at home making big bucks.
Also, "Natural gas, ...is also selling at longtime highs, up to $5 per thousand cubic feet, some five times the price of two years ago.
