The Week Of The RNC

So in one week, the DOW Jones drops, unemployment rises to 5-year high, and Fannie & Freddie are being taken over by the Feds at a loss for shareholders. Did you hear any of this at the RNC? Not to mention how Gustav reminded us all about the failures of Katrina 3 years later.

The Fannie and Freddie situation are classically Republican: Privatize the gains, socialize the losses. Taxpayers are footing that crisis. The news was released after the convention was over on a Friday, nice timing.

Barack Field-Dresses McCain

Watch this and feel the mandate growing.

"[S]uddenly he's the change agent," Obama said. "He says, 'I'm going to tell those lobbyists that their days of running Washington are over.' Who's he going to tell? Is he going to tell his campaign chairman, who's one of the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington? Is he gonna tell his campaign manager who was one of the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington? Is he gonna to tell all the folks who are running his campaign who are the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington? Who, who is it that he's going to tell that change is coming? I mean, come on. They must think you're stupid."

Joe Biden Is Cool

"What do you have to say when you can't explain the last 8 years of failure"

John McCain Is 23 Years Older Than Alaska

John McCain Is 23 Years Older Than Alaska. Enough said.

Condi Rice In Tripoli

Secretary Of State Condi Rice is in Libya. Right now. Is that in any of the so-called left wing mainstream media? It isn't. Why would they want to show that Obama's brand of diplomacy is now the accepted US policy - to engage countries. This is the first time since 1953 a Secretary Of Sate has made such a visit.
"By flying to Tripoli and agreeing to shake the hand of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, Miss Rice is effectively ending three decades of hostility between the oil-rich desert nation and the mainstream international community."
Barack Obama and Democrats know how to realistically run foreign policy. Not saying it is perfect, but it's the best way. John McCain, and the failed Bush Doctrine, would like to continue ignoring these rogue states. The only reason they are engaging countries like Libya, keep in mind this is the same terrorist country that took down that Pan Am flight in the 80s, is because the mandate in this country is to change. Not just by Barack saying it, or including it in his campaign, but because the American people really want it and expect it.

Unlike McSame who is obsessed with legislative issues like earmarks and appropriations that a Senate Majority leader would run, Obama is the executive leader with Presidential leadership. His policies are bringing the end of a war, by providing a timeline that is now the accepted answer in Iraq, and changing foreign policy by engaging states, for example Iran. He was initially confronted by the old Republican stance, but stood up to them and is now vindicated. Both by Iraq and al-Maliki wanting a timeline for US troops out of Iraq and by Condi Rice's meeting with Iran last month. Both are the result of Barack Obama bringing intellect and statesmanship to the table.

The article I used is from the UK, it's news to them. But in America it's a page 18 story, far from the Sarah Putin Palin experience by osmosis stories.

Sarah Palin And The Alaskan Independence Party

VPNILF Sarah Palin is under the microscope. Back in Alaska she has a past that will be used to find insights into her present day philosophies. Just as they did with Obama and a school he attended as a 6 year old, your past can be used out of context to portray a fear or stereotype. Maybe what you do an an adult has more weight? That's for people to decide.

Six months ago Sarah Palin told members of the Alaskan Independence Party in a videotaped speech to their convention in Fairbanks, "Keep up the good work." She has cheered the work of a tiny party that long has pushed for a statewide vote on whether Alaska should secede from those same United States, The Alaska First, America Second platform.

"She was an AIP member before she got the job as the mayor of a small town," says Dexter Clark, an Alaskan Independence Party vice chairman.

Palin's husband, Todd, was a registered member of the party for seven years. Palin and her husband attended the party's 1994 convention. Palin also spoke to the party's convention in 2006 when she was running for governor.

Acknowledging the problem with perception, McCain's campaign distributed Palin's voter registration records Tuesday to show that she had never been a member of the AIP.

So Palin has a separatist bent? As per the Right Wing playbook, deny deny deny. That will make the problem go away.

Alaskan Executive Experience

According to Republicans, almost all who have just met Sarah Palin, she has enough executive experience to be President. More than Barack they say. By that same argument, John McCain lacks the same experience. But why would conservatives let their blind faith let a blaring hole in their argument stop them?

Now this executive experience of Palin's is so potent she has to be holed up in Alaska with her handlers and take a multi-week crash course to learn federal issues and foreign policy in order to debate Joe Biden in the VP debates. She has to learn how to be a VP. Now imagine if she gets to be VP, she would need on-the-job-experience and, as McCain said, she would have to be "introduced to Washington." She would need to know A.) what her job is, B.) know how to do her job and C.) meet all the people she'll be doing that job with. Sounds like a failure to me.

So to wrap up, Palin's not even qualified to be VP yet she was experience to be President? Republicans know she's not ready for a job they want her to do, thus the VP training session she's in, but try to point out she's qualified for an even harder job like President.

That's Republican logic for you - saying someone is qualified for a job they can't do.

Poor Judgment Followed By Damage Control

What the selection and subsequent scandalous background of Sarah Palin highlights about John McCain is that McSame, like Bush and his hard-headed selfish agenda, is willing to make decisions without knowing all the facts and then spend the whole time trying to shove a square peg of rhetoric into a round hole of truth. Rather than admit that the landscape has changed, that facts have made the debate different, McSame and Republicans just spout off as nothing has happened.

Last week experience was the key, this week it's a "breath of fresh air" to be clueless.

Who is Barack Obama is replaced with get to know Sarah Palin.

John McCain left big decisions to the last minute, did not fact check, picked a dubious outcome, and then has to convince both his base and the opposition that this is a good thing. This is not a good sign for a potential top executive. Hey, surprises are great! I meant to not know.

Bush has attacked intellect for the last 8 years, now McCain is attacking common sense.

Bristol Palin

Bristol Palin and Cap'n Mo. Watch out what you put up on your myspace, it could come back to haunt your mother. 17 years old that drink and get pregnant are probably normal in Alaska. It's like Homecoming for them. I won't even get into the white-girls-throwing-gang-signs shit she is doing.

So you drink at home at 17, so your parents don't know, so your home is known as the "party house", so you take pictures of you and your friends drinking, so you posted the pictures of your underage drinking online, so you posted them on a profile with your name and information on them, so what if that profile is searchable, so you have poor decision making qualities, so your parents have absolutely no clue as to what you're doing in their home. How can you possibly judge anything from that? How could this be a reflection on someone? What could possibly be of any interest to anyone outside of their home?

It's not like your mother is in national conservative politics and preaches abstinence-only and wants to cut funding for teen pregnancy programs. It's not like in one instant all your Mom's policies seem useless, out of touch with society and hypocritical. It's not like you got pregnant without being married. Oh,.......

This highlights McCain's poor gut decisions and how lack of knowing the people around you can put you in a bad situation. Will POW [Philosophy Of W] McSame make a deal will a Russian or Iraqi he barley knows? Then find out after the fact they lied or withheld truth. Google "Curveball" and see how one man got Bush/Cheney War Enterprises™ into the Iraq War.

McCain, The Gambler

Forget the Maverick image BS, John McSame is here on now called the Gambler. But not the good kind, the Kenny Rogers type who wins against the bad guys in the end. I'm talking the novice type who gets hustled out of all his money in minutes. He gambled away all his hopes, took massive risks based on his own quick decisions, and drew snakes eyes in the political game of life. No vetting of his VP candidate? Making the pick on his own? Like the songs says, "know when to walk away, know when to run". Well John, start running. This train wreck of a decision is going to haunt you for a long time.

Imagine his decisions in the years to come, getting older by the day? He thinks the future of the US is worth this? Debt Crisis? 3 wars? His answer for these massive problems is someone with no experience. Classic Republican candidate: the actor. Reagan and Fred Thompson were literally actors, Schwarzenegger, too. Bush acted like a religious guy, but never went to church, and was the first President with an MBA and acted like he never heard of fiscal responsibility while ran the economy into the ground. Now we have the first VPILF, Sarah Palin. She looks hot, I'll give her that. She looks like she might be cast as a VP in a TV mini-series who needs a sassy Megan Mullaley type character.

We joke that Palin looks like the hot librarian in any Cinemax movie, but those days are over. You can't photoshop or use lights and make-up to cover up this mess. The goon squad at the RNC will just have to wait until 2116 to cast their next actor in a leading role.

Sarah Palin, From MILF To VP To?

Will trophy wife #2 Sarah Palin drop out of the VP nomination? Intrade, an online prediction trading website, has started a trading market for her. It's currently an 11% chance she will withdraw. Is this a Harriet Miers part 2 situation for John McCain?

Conservatives around the country must be wondering the same thing. Rule of thumb, if the Right strongly denies it, it will happen.
