A plan approved by the GOP-controlled House last month would trigger deep cuts for the National Weather Service, including the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii.
Democratic Rep. Colleen Hanabusa of Hawaii called the GOP cuts reckless and even dangerous.
