Republicans love the actor type, the macho airhead who tells them how great they are: Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Sarah Palin, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Fred Thompson.
I'm sure you heard of Dale Peterson from Alabama running for Dept of Agriculture. He made a commercial worthy of Will Ferrell, but it's not a spoof. Guns, horses, the phrase "don't give a rip". Well, now that ad has been smocked. See below:
