"By flying to Tripoli and agreeing to shake the hand of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, Miss Rice is effectively ending three decades of hostility between the oil-rich desert nation and the mainstream international community."Barack Obama and Democrats know how to realistically run foreign policy. Not saying it is perfect, but it's the best way. John McCain, and the failed Bush Doctrine, would like to continue ignoring these rogue states. The only reason they are engaging countries like Libya, keep in mind this is the same terrorist country that took down that Pan Am flight in the 80s, is because the mandate in this country is to change. Not just by Barack saying it, or including it in his campaign, but because the American people really want it and expect it.
Unlike McSame who is obsessed with legislative issues like earmarks and appropriations that a Senate Majority leader would run, Obama is the executive leader with Presidential leadership. His policies are bringing the end of a war, by providing a timeline that is now the accepted answer in Iraq, and changing foreign policy by engaging states, for example Iran. He was initially confronted by the old Republican stance, but stood up to them and is now vindicated. Both by Iraq and al-Maliki wanting a timeline for US troops out of Iraq and by Condi Rice's meeting with Iran last month. Both are the result of Barack Obama bringing intellect and statesmanship to the table.
The article I used is from the UK, it's news to them. But in America it's a page 18 story, far from the Sarah Putin Palin experience by osmosis stories.
