The Bush administration did not hear a "single dissent" in seeking approval of its torture program, in part, because Cabinet members and senior lawmakers did not know waterboarding had been prosecuted as a war crime after World War II. The officials also did not know that the military training program on which the techniques were based was designed to counter "torture methods used by Communists in the Korean War."Nice to know these two questions never came up:
1. Is this legal?
2. What would we do if someone did this, or had done this, to us?
George the Tyrant telling his henchmen what to do, not listening to anyone, instilling his will against the laws of the day, borrowing ideas from the worst history has to offer. Textbook tyrant.
