President-elect Obama stated at a press conference that he's "absolutely certain" that no one on his staff was involved in Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's pay-for-play scheme for filling Obama's old Senate seat. Most importantly, Obama said that his staff is compiling of its own contacts with the governor and his staff and will release that information "in the next few days."Imagine if this happened with Bush and Cheney in the Valerie Plame outing? Bush said he would fire anyone involved, then went on to pardon Scooter Libby.
Whereas Obama never spoke with Blagojevich about the selling of his Senate seat, [not denying he's spoken with Blagojevich, in general,] Bush and Cheney actively outed and covered up the outing of Plame. Libby was just the fall guy. The faux Republican "we need answers" is laughable.
